First L4A classroom at a Univerisity
from Celso Timana
On 2nd of July 2011, Linux4Afrika founder, Hans-Peter Merkel, had the opportunity to visit the classrom for Open Source Software activities with x2go.
The classroom holds about 20 computers from Linux4Afrika Project. The objective of this computer classroom at University and not at primary schools, as it is usual with Linux4Afrika project, is to have an overview of the usage within the academic community at higher learning institutions.
This setup will enable the students to have a direct contact with Linux while at university. Naturally, many of the educational application installed on the server won't be daily needed since the objective is to have students learning about Linux basics.
The classroom was setup on 26th of March 2011 by dra. Judite Mara, Neide Botelho plus two students from the University Eduardo Mondlane.
Newly certified with the new x2go certification training, Neide Botelho has the task to rollout the new x2go version with Ubuntu, not Debian anymore.
